Raymond Loewy Lincoln

During the art deco era, the sciences of speed and motion were celebrated in the gratuitous use of streamlining. One of the greatest designers of that era and eras to come was Raymond Loewy. Later in his career he would bring us multiple designs for Studebaker, including the bullet nose and the Avanti. He designed the Coke bottle, the Greyhound bus, multiple appliances and iconic logos. But in that earlier streamedlined period, he would design his personal ride. Designed be Loewy and built by Derham Body Co., the car was a customized 41 Lincoln with a removable plexiglass roof insert.  The car featured leaded seams and body mods indicative of a 40's custom. Avantis are cool, but not this cool.
